Student members of the Career Collective will engage in structured career preparation aligned with industry needs, along with targeted programming, coursework, and experiential learning opportunities.

Students are supported by a network of career coaches and faculty/staff collaborators who assist with career readiness, employer connections, and academic alignment.

Participants will have access to curated engagement opportunities—including employer-led events, site visits, and networking experiences—designed to connect them directly with recruiting organizations. Participation in employment opportunities remains student choice.

Students will be recognized for membership and engagement including opportunities such as inclusion in exclusive employer resume books, earning digital badges, and more.

There is no cost for membership. Most programs and activities are institutionally supported.

Student Eligibility

Participants should:

  • Be engineering or computer science students with at least two semesters remaining before graduation
  • Be in good academic standing (recommended GPA of 2.5 or higher)
  • Demonstrate interest in industry-aligned career pathways and employer engagement opportunities
  •  Meet any additional university-specific eligibility criteria
  • Special program eligibility may be available 

Student Requirements

Participants are expected to:

  • Engage in career preparation programming (e.g., EGR coursework or equivalent experiences)
  • Participate in 3+Career Collective events, workshops, or employer engagement opportunities per academic year.  
  • Meet with Career Coach, at least once per academic year.
  • Actively pursue internships, co-ops, or full-time opportunities aligned with their goals
  • Upon acceptance of a co‑op or internship, students must enroll in EGR X for each and every work experience prior to graduation.
  • Students must complete a minimum 10 week experience and earn a “P” (Passing) grade in the associated experiential course (EGR 391 – EGR 494).
