Corporate Partners Program (CPP)

Corporate Partners that support the MSU Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering play an important role in nurturing future industry leaders. They contribute to engineering research and help foster educational opportunities for students who are working hard to prepare for diverse careers in engineering and technology. For more information on how to get involved, contact Peter Savolainen, Interim Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at pete@msu.edu

For over a century, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Michigan State University (MSU) has been renowned for engineering education, preparing students to tackle intricate global challenges and propel economic development. Aligned with the MSU College of Engineering Strategic Plan, CEE focuses on investing in student success beyond the classroom and preparing the next generation for a rapidly evolving and globally connected world. At the heart of these initiatives lies the CEE Corporate Partners Program (CPP), a pivotal platform offering public and private organizations a unique chance to actively engage in these overarching objectives while gaining crucial visibility and access to our pool of approximately 750 undergraduate and graduate students.

Partners gain visibility among our students, faculty, and alumni. The CPP will benefit companies who want access to CEE students for recruitment and an increased visible presence in the department.

Partnering with CEE will give your organization an edge, with hands-on help from our team. The possibilities are limitless!

All contributions received through the CPP directly support the CEE Department and its students, funding scholastic activities, supporting student organizations and projects, providing financial assistance, and investing in teaching-related laboratories and infrastructure. By investing in the CPP, organizations invest in the academic experience of some of the brightest engineering students in the nation, securing the future of our engineering profession.

The CPP offers companies a range of benefits, combining recruitment opportunities, enhanced visibility within the department and college, and active involvement in the CEE student events. Partnering with CEE provides organizations with a competitive edge through the following perks:

  • Early Access to Top Students: Gain priority access to top-tier students for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions.
  • Recruitment Tools: Obtain access to student resume booklets, send job advertisements directly to students, and employ mechanisms to target specific students for recruiting events.
  • Interaction with Students: Engage with CEE's students through a variety of events, including departmental banquets and receptions, as well as through interactions with student organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Chi Epsilon, the Environmental Engineering Society (EES), and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), with the CPP program covering participation costs.
  • Career Event Sponsorship: Participate in engineering career events and networking opportunities, including a "Day at the Department" where partners can interact with CEE faculty, staff, and students.
  • Project and Activity Participation: Receive priority for sponsorship and participation in student projects and activities, such as capstone design and student design competitions.
  • Visibility and Inclusion: Access bulletin/electronic board space in department hallways; feature select content on the department website; and highlight your company in regular department e-newsletters.

Sponsorship is available at a flat rate of $5,000 annually. The receipt for your contribution will be provided and will reflect the fair market value of goods and services ($1,000) received in exchange for your donation.
