Satish Udpa returns to Engineering
Michigan State University President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., announced Sept. 30 that Executive Vice President Satish Udpa is resigning from his administrative position and returning to lab and research work at the university.

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and its Engineering Deans Council announced 74 award recipients in its inaugural year of the ASEE Diversity Recognition Program. The honor is given to institutions that signed and executed the ASEE Deans Diversity Pledge; have an infrastructure to support diverse populations, and engage in a list of specific activities including a Diversity and Inclusion Plan with measurable goals.

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees selected Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., as its next university president at a special meeting on Tuesday, May 28. President-designee Stanley will officially begin his term as Michigan State's 21st president on Aug. 1, 2019.
