For significant achievements and outstanding contributions, nine distinguished alumni of the Michigan State University College of Engineering are being honored with 2021 Alumni Awards. The college also honored a high school educator for her notable efforts in inspiring students to study math, science, and engineering.

Michigan State University is planning more than 50 limited-attendance outdoor graduation ceremonies to recognize the accomplishments of the spring 2021 graduating class. Unlike previous years, a university-wide convocation will not be held.

Each year students in the MSU College of Engineering nominate their favorite faculty members for coveted Teaching Excellence Awards - recognitions that are presented during the annual Engineering Awards celebration.

The honors, considered among the college's most prestigious distinctions, are being awarded virtually this year due to the novel coronavirus.

While in-person celebrations are cancelled in December 2020, the College of Engineering is recognizing the accomplishments of its 350 undergraduate, master's and PhD graduates and sharing special words and messages at the Engineering Virtual Commencement Celebration.
