Alumni Awards 2023: MSU recognizes world-class achievements
The Michigan State University College of Engineering will honor eight distinguished graduates with 2023 Alumni Awards on Saturday, May 6, at MSU’s Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. The College will also recognize a high school educator whose noteworthy efforts to teach technical education and computer science reflect positively on MSU and the College of Engineering.

1,200 showcase projects at Spring Design Day
A team of Michigan State University engineering students explored that question and created a Build-an-App for Humanities Researchers to help the MSU Linguistics Department save both time and resources in an analysis of the pandemic. The nation’s largest-ever campaign to promote careers and recruit talent to fill jobs in Michigan’s surging electric vehicle (EV) and transportation mobility sector will include at least 12 Spartans who are on track for up to $10,000 scholarships while working at EV-related companies in Metro Detroit, Lansing, Jackson, and Saginaw.

Showcase of Stars hands out $115,000 in scholarships
The Michigan State University College of Engineering awarded $115,000 in scholarships during the 2023 Dean’s Showcase of Stars on March 21. This year’s event included 180 students and corporate guests. It was hosted in the MSUFCU Club on the fourth floor of Spartan Stadium.
Dean Kempel on: Building the Industry 4.0 Workforce
Outlining a new Engineering and Digital Innovation Center in a capital outlay request, the Michigan State University Board of Trustees plans to build a new facility geared toward cutting-edge technological research and teaching the next generation of engineers to work in Industry 4.0. According to MSU College of Engineering Dean Leo Kempel, the facility will keep Michigan competitive in tech education on the global stage.
