If you are a current MSU Graduate student enrolled in an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate program: Please contact Lisa Clark at clarkl29@msu.edu to request the graduate certificate be added to your record.

If you are not currently an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate student: You can apply to our Semiconductor Manufacturing, Processing, and Devices Graduate Certificate by completing an application and paying the $65 application fee. The Graduate Certificate application link can be found in the Graduate Certificate section of the Graduate applicants webpage.

The Graduate Certificate in Semiconductor Manufacturing, Processing, and Devices is designed to provide students with semiconductor research training that will make them more competitive in the field of semiconductor processing and manufacturing.

Students must complete a minimum of 9 credits from the following courses:

  • ECE 813 Advanced VLSI Design 3 cr
  • ECE 832 Analog Integrated Circuit Design 3 cr
  • ECE 850 Electrodynamics of Plasmas 3 cr
  • ECE 870 Introduction to Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems 3 cr
  • ECE 871 Micro-electro-mechanical Systems Fabrication 3 cr
  • ECE 874 Physical Electronics 3 cr
  • ECE 875 Electronic Devises 3 cr
  • ECE 877 Cleanroom Procedures 3 cr
  • ECE 931C Properties of Semiconductors 3 cr
  • ECE 989 Advanced Topics in Plasma 3 cr
