Kevin M. Guskiewicz began his tenure as Michigan State University’s 22nd president on Monday, March 4, by honoring and celebrating the accomplishments of some of the university’s most outstanding faculty at the 2024 MSU Investiture for Endowed Faculty.

Michigan State University researcher Shanelle Foster spends much of her time innovating 3D printing techniques to make motors smaller and lighter. These more sustainable machines are used in advanced manufacturing to increase efficiency and reduce their impact on the environment.

She was one of three advisors at the university who won Outstanding Advisor Awards in 2023.

Michigan State University’s College of Engineering and its corporate partners recognized more than 160 students Tuesday, Feb. 20 for their academic achievements and participation in college activities and programming.

Coding for all is a goal of Spartan Engineers at Michigan State University. For the past 15 years, MSU has hosted a computer science community outreach program, one of them is called the Technovation Coding Club. Technovation is a student-led effort that introduces 6-12th grade students to computer science using games, mini-projects, and team-building activities.

The Michigan State University College of Engineering recognizes 19 faculty and staff members with awards for their excellence in service and distinguished contributions. Faculty and staff members are nominated each year by their colleagues, industry peers and students for the most prestigious honors the college offers.
