Biography

Dr. Hamid R. Karimian is a research assistant professor in the departments of Computer Science, and Engineering (CSE). He did his PhD studies in theoretical physics at Ghent University, Belgium. Before joining MSU, he worked at Tulane University as a postdoctoral research associate. During the past few years, he has been working on the application of machine learning in order to solve real-world problems ... and fairness of the results. He has been working on biomedical images and tissue signals, and also fairness of decision making in social domains. His general interests include the application of machine learning in scientific discovery.
