For the first time, MSU is offering a Teaching Computation with MATLAB educator workshop on campus.
The primary outcome of the workshop is curriculum developed by you – the educator participants – that you can use in your courses. To help you determine the optimal curriculum, the workshop will cover the newest trends in STEM teaching – from flipped classrooms, to cloud tools, to online grading – with a particular focus on how MATLAB based courses can incorporate GenAI, or ChatGPT, as a teaching and learning tool. MathWorks staff and experienced educators will be on hand to share tools and experiences.
We’ll explore practical strategies for incorporating MATLAB teaching tools such as MATLAB Live Scripts, MATLAB Online, MATLAB GPT and MATLAB Onramp to improve student learning and course effectiveness. If you’re seeking innovative ways to complement your current teaching methods, this workshop provides actionable insights and resources tailored to your needs.
Educators in STEM disciplines interested in strengthening their course offerings with computational tools.
Don’t miss this opportunity to empower your teaching and help your students unlock their full potential!
By applying to the workshop, participants agreed to the following, if accepted:
Applicants for this workshop must teach at or assist with teaching at a college or university and have experience using (or plans to use) MATLAB for teaching. The application close date is Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
The costs of hosting the workshop are covered by Michigan State University and MathWorks. Participants are responsible for covering local lodging and travel to and from East Lansing.
