MSU has been awarded $29.9 million from the state to build a new STEM teaching and learning facility. It will be the university's first new classroom building in nearly 50 years and offer undergraduates teaching and project laboratories and breakout space in the biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, physics and engineering.

• June 8: MSU civil and environmental engineering professor Karim Chatti is the new leader of the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Transportation Engineering on Pavements.
