$50,000 for ECE

Two Spartan Engineers from Dallas support ECE student award fund

John Papapolymerou, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE);, recently accepted $50,000 from two Spartans in the Dallas area to support the David A. and Michele M. Pahl Endowed Student Award Fund in ECE.

ECE Department Chair John Papapolymerou (center) presented Michele Pahl ('86, engineering arts) and David Pahl ('86, electrical engineering) with an appreciation gift for their support of ECE students.

The fund helps undergraduate and graduate students participate in national competitions, study abroad, student research projects, travel, equipment purchases, student programming, recruitment, or student leadership activities.

Both Pahls graduated from MSU in 1986 - David in electrical engineering and Michele in engineering arts.

Papapolymerou said he is grateful to the Pahls for establishing the student award fund in ECE.

"It will help the department support a variety of student-related activities and enable our students to explore their creativity and talent in developing new ideas and engineering systems that serve our society," Papapolymerou said. "This financial support will help the department attract highly qualified students at the national level," he added.
