Mechanical engineering video wins Emmy

Public service announcement on wearing masks wins regional Emmy

And the Emmy goes to … WKAR and the researchers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University for their award-winning Public Service Announcement (PSA) on the effectiveness of masks.

The WKAR public media staff were honored with three regional Emmy¬Æ awards by the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at the 43rd Emmy¬Æ Michigan Virtual Awards Gala on June 19, 2021.

Patton Allison and Amey Barde were among the Spartan Engineers contributing to the Emmy-winning video.

Among the winners was the collaborative effort between WKAR and researchers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, including Assistant Professor Patton Allison and Postdoc Amey Barde, who helped WKAR in the making of the video on mask effectiveness.
