Osofisan's father immigrated from Nigeria to the United States at age 18 and completed his premed degree at MSU, later becoming a cardiologist. Osofisan was also drawn to MSU, but to pursue his lifelong interest in sustainability.

"My parents always tell me they're proud that I am creating my own path in life and working toward a career in what I am most passionate about," said Osofisan, who is pursuing a double major in biosystems engineering and zoology, with a concentration in marine biology.

"I am constantly inspired by how my dad came to America at such a young age with no support system and worked hard to be successful in a country he barely knew."

"As a student focused on sustainable development, connecting with other students with the same passions as me has truly made MSU feel like a home. From becoming president of the Student Greenhouse Project to holding a seat on the Student Sustainability Council, I have found a strong sense of community at MSU and a place I feel like I belong."
