Darius Adamczyk '88 joins National Academy of Engineering
A graduate of the Michigan State University College of Engineering has been elected to The National Academy of Engineering (NAE).
Darius Adamczyk, chairman and chief executive officer of Honeywell International Inc. in Charlotte, N.C., is among the 124-newly elected members in the NAE Class of 2023. He was honored for his technical and business leadership in quantum computing, sustainable technologies, and automation, and promoting diversity in STEM careers.
Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. In 2023, 106 new members and 18 international members were named, bringing the total U.S. membership to 2,420 and the number of international members to 319.
Adamczyk was born in Poland and emigrated to the United States at age 11, speaking no English at the time. He attended Michigan State University and earned bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering in 1988. He then attended Syracuse University for his master's degree in computer engineering, and Harvard University for his MBA.
In 2018, MSU Engineering presented him with the John D. Ryder Electrical and Computer Engineering Alumni Award.
