Associate Chair for Research elected Editor-in-Chief

Xiaobo Tan is elected Editor-in-Chief for TMECH

Michigan State University’s Xiaobo Tan was elected to be the next Editor-in-Chief for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers / American Society of Mechanical Engineers Transactions on Mechatronics (TMECH).

Transactions on Mechatronics (TMECH) is a first quartile journal with over 3000 annual submissions. The journal covers all categories of Automation and Control Systems, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

“I am deeply honored to be elected to this position,” said Tan. “As the next Editor-in-Chief, I am excited about the opportunity to work with my colleagues and peers to further propel the journal and the field to the next level of excellence.”

Tan is the associate chair for research in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received MSU’s prestigious William J. Beal Outstanding Faculty Award in 2023. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Tan will begin his term in January 2026.
