MSU Engineering describes experiential approach to developing practice-ready engineers in collaboration with industry

The Michigan State University College of Engineering was recently featured on the Global Auto Mobility “Engineering Careers Tour” podcast. The panel included Josh Siegel, assistant professor of computer science and engineering, and electrical and computer engineering; Garth Motschenbacher, director of employer relations; and Tamara Reid Bush, associate dean for inclusion and diversity and professor of mechanical engineering. They discussed the experiences and skills future engineers need to succeed. Keegan Degoede, a computer science and engineering major, described the experiential learning opportunities MSU and Hitachi Astemo offered on his journey to become a practice-ready engineer. Rick Currie, senior director, Astemo Americas conveyed the importance of the academic/industry collaboration.
