
Michigan State University will honor 426 graduates from the College of Engineering during Commencements on Dec. 12-13, 2025.
Engineering will graduate 317 undergraduates, 73 master’s, and 36 Ph.D. candidates during two graduation ceremonies.

Friday, Dec. 12, 2025
Master’s and Doctoral degree ceremony for 73 master’s and 36 Ph.D. Engineering candidates is 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Jack Breslin Student Events Center, 534 Birch Road, East Lansing. No admission tickets are required. The ceremony is about two hours long.
Joan Rose, MSU’s Homer Nowlin Chair in Water Research and director of the Water Alliance, will address advanced degree recipients. She is internationally recognized for her work in water microbiology and public health, improving wastewater treatment and water safety across the globe.
Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025

Graduation for 317 Engineering undergraduates is at noon Saturday in the Jack Breslin Student Events Center, 534 Birch Road, East Lansing. Engineering will share the ceremony with graduates from Lyman Briggs and the College of Natural Science. No admission tickets are required. The ceremony is about 1½ hours long.
The undergraduate commencement address will be offered by Engineering alumnus Kevin Conroy ‘88, CEO and chairman of Exact Sciences. Conroy has driven innovation nationwide, including the development of Cologuard which has advanced early colorectal cancer detection. He also led the acquisition of Genomic Health Inc., which has strengthened patient care and solidified his prominence in biotechnology, health care and diagnostics.
Conroy has received numerous accolades, including the Claud R. Erickson Distinguished Alumni Award – Engineering’s highest alumni honor – and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Midwest Biotechnology. Conroy received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1988.

Ella Kruschka will carry the Engineering banner and lead the processional for Spartan Engineering undergraduates on Saturday. Kruschka is a senior with a 4.0 grade point average in mechanical engineering and is a member of the MSU Honors College. She is from South Lyon, Michigan. After graduation, she will be a product development engineer in the Ford College Graduate Program.
College of Engineering Interim Dean John Papapolymerou said he is incredibly proud of the Spartan Engineers participating in December Commencement.
“Our impressive graduating class and expansive network of successful Spartan Engineering alumni truly reflect our commitment to serving as a talent pipeline for Michigan and beyond. We are proud of the contributions our graduates make to society."
About Commencement
Graduation events will be livestreamed and available to view via MSU’s Commencement website. Social media users can follow the ceremonies on social media platforms using #SpartanGrad25.
For security, only small transparent bags are allowed. Cameras, camcorders and certain carrying cases also are permitted. More information about the bag policy is available on the Breslin Center’s website.
No food or beverages — including bottled water — will be allowed, and this applies to graduates, guests and faculty. The Breslin Center will offer a limited concessions menu during the ceremonies.
Additional prohibited items include noisemakers, selfie sticks, pets, signs and weapons of any form. Breslin Center is a smoke-free facility. Metal detectors will screen all attendees, so plan accordingly.
There are several ramps and lots available for parking during Commencement ceremonies. There will be no charge for parking in any lot or ramp for the duration of these events.
Parking at the Breslin Center is limited, so the public is encouraged to use the free shuttle service. For directions, parking and shuttle details, visit the MSU Commencement website.
There are no printed Commencement programs available on-site at any ceremony location. QR codes will be available for viewing.
