
Erica Fiasky is the new director of academic advising in the MSU College of Engineering.
She began her new job on April 20, working remotely.
Fiasky will oversee all undergraduate academic advising for the college - directing the advising for 6,000+ undergraduate students across 11 different majors.
She joins the college from the MSU Neighborhood Student Success Collaborative (NSSC), where she served as the advising director in the South Neighborhood.
She is the faculty adviser for Kappa Delta Chi Sorority - Beta Epsilon Chapter, the First Gen Association, and she co-coordinates Mujer a Mujer, a program whose mission is to empower undergraduate women by helping them develop academically and professionally through inspirational role models.
Fiasky is a two-time graduate of MSU with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture and a master's degree in urban and regional planning. She is currently a PhD student in MSU's HALE program (Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education) program.
A native of Lansing, she enlisted in the Michigan Army National Guard at the age of 17 and served eight years as a military police soldier. Fiasky achieved the rank of Sergeant and was deployed twice while working toward her bachelor's degree at MSU.
She has one son, Amadeo.
When in-person operations resume in the college, her office will be in C101 Wilson Hall.
