Liz Burbatt has been named interim director of the Diversity Programs Office (DPO) and will work with Associate Dean Tamara Bush and Assistant Dean Kyle Foster in the areas of diversity and inclusion in the Michigan State University College of Engineering.
Burbatt transitions from her role as DPO’s educational programs coordinator.
Since joining MSU in 2019, she has expanded the Guided Learning Center services, implemented a peer success coach program, and coordinated various DPO events for Spartan Engineers.
Prior to working at MSU, she worked at Ferris State University coordinating the TIP Scholars Program and Thompson Scholars Program.
Burbatt received a master’s degree in higher education administration at the University of Kansas, where she worked as an academic adviser. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) at MSU.
