College welcomes three more Alumni Distinguished Scholars

Three more Alumni Distinguished Scholars join MSU Engineering

Three first-year students to the Michigan State University College of Engineering are Alumni Distinguished Scholars, continuing the legacy of attracting top students from around the nation to be Spartan Engineers.

Alumni Distinguished Scholarships cover full tuition, room and board and a stipend for up to eight semesters of undergraduate study at MSU. The scholarships are valued at about $130,000 for in-state students and approximately $230,000 for out-of-state students. 

All the students are members of the Honors College.

Alumni Distinguished Scholars are selected from more than 1,100 of the top high school seniors who applied to MSU, participated in interviews, and took an intensive general knowledge exam this past winter. 

The newest Alumni Distinguished Scholars in the college are:

  • Maxwell Joyce of West Bloomfield, Michigan. A graduate of West Bloomfield High School, he has a mechanical engineering preference.

  • Arhan Mulay of Santa Clara, California. A graduate of Lynbrook High School, he has a computer science preference. 
  • Toluwani Oshin of Midland, Michigan. A graduate of Herbert Henry Dow High School, he has a computer engineering preference.
