Veteran and Military-Connected Students

Close up of an American Flag that is in front of the Rock

More than 200 student Veterans and military-connected students within the College of Engineering are supported by EGRID (Engineering Inclusion and Diversity) programs. Program coordinator, John Morrissey, understands the unique challenges student Veterans and military-connected students face during their college career and works with the EGRID team and MSU’s Student Veteran Resource Center to create a community and support system for these students by hosting events, providing gathering spaces, and showcasing the successes of other Spartans with similar experiences. Additionally, all of the EGRID professional staff are trained by a VITAL Coordinator (Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership), a resource provided by the VA (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs), on topics related to student Veterans and military-connected students in college.

Scholarships are available to student Veterans and military-connected students who apply and are selected through our annual Dean's Showcase of Stars scholarship program.
