The National Effective Teaching Institute (NETI) provides participants information and hands-on practice in the elements of effective teaching, enhances teaching skills by introducing research-based best practices, and provides participants with opportunities for networking with others who share an interest in effective teaching.
The College of Engineering is hosting a 1-day version of the workshop on 10/27/26 (the Tuesday of Fall Break). The goal is for this to become an annual professional development opportunity for enhancing student learning in the College. This year, the workshop will focus on Active Learning and Inductive Teaching and will be facilitated by Mike Prince, who, among his many education-related accolades, is the author of the most cited paper in the history of the Journal of Engineering Education.
More details will follow, but, to begin our planning, we would like to get a sense of interest. The workshop will be free and open to all educators in the College of Engineering, including interested graduate and undergraduate students.
