Decoding Generosity

A SUMMARY OF YOUR IMPACT

Thank you

Greetings!

As I reflect on all that has happened over the past academic year, I am reminded that generosity cannot be engineered but is an expression of kindness innate in all Spartans.

Your investment in the present and future of our college is paramount to enriching its global impact. Innovation, activation, and transformation - all start with you.

On behalf of our students, faculty, staff, and community partners, thank you for decoding generosity.

With gratitude,

The Students

Each year, the College of Engineering offers 200+ scholarships, awarding approximately $1.5 million dollars!

Marco Vanoni, B.S., Mechanical Engineering, ‘25

Charles and Mary Jane Spalding Expendable Engineering Scholarship Recipient

Being from California, I have extra costs with regard to my education; receiving the Spalding scholarship allowed me to pay for those expenses and attend my dream out-of-state school. I have also used these funds to enter MSU Engineering competitions.

Of all my experiences here, I am the most proud of placing 2nd in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Water Wheel competition this year and being an active member of the Honors College.

For the future, I hope to travel and work internationally, fluently speak three languages, and drive a vehicle that I help design. Thank you, Mr. Spalding, for making this possible!

Tyler Crockett, B.S., Applied Engineering Sciences, ‘26

David S. and Susan M. Krawczyk Endowed Scholarship in Engineering Recipient

Receiving this scholarship, I feel a great appreciation for donors who make such big differences in students’ lives out of the kindness in their hearts. The Krawczyk’s have given my family peace of mind and have enabled me to connect with plenty of amazing Spartans along the way.

So far during my undergraduate experience, I have enjoyed forming meaningful relationships with friends and faculty and serving in leadership positions. I am the former President of the Society of Applied Engineering Sciences and the current President of the Global Sales Leadership Society.

This Summer, I am grateful to be working with Trane Technologies as a Technical Sales Intern. For my upcoming senior year, I want to continue exploring a career in sales and have fun collaborating with others, leading with faith and integrity above all else.

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Krawczyk, for modeling what it looks like to pay it forward. I hope to establish a fund like this myself one day.
