Volodymyr Tarabara becomes EWRI Fellow

Tarabara becomes American Society of Civil Engineers EWRI Fellow 

An Michigan State University College of Engineering faculty member with environmental research expertise has received an honor in the field of Environmental Engineering.

Volodymyr Tarabara was elected earlier this year as a fellow for the American Society of Civil Engineers' Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI).

An EWRI Fellow is someone who is recognized by the field and their peers as a leader in water resources and/or environmental engineering.

They must be an EWRI member for 10 or more years and demonstrate accomplishments that have contributed to the advancement or application of water resources, environmental engineering, science or technology. 

Tarabara specializes in water treatment, industrial pollution control and biosafety monitoring research. He's co-authored over 100 journal papers and book chapters on these and related subjects.

He also serves as MSU's director of its Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies.

Tarabara received his PhD (2004) and MS (2001) degrees in Environmental Engineering from Rice University in Houston.
