Engineering graduate student wins 2025 AT&T Excellence in Teaching with Technology Award

Zhiying Li, a Ph.D. student in computer science and engineering, was awarded the 2025 AT&T Award for Excellence in Teaching with Technology.

This awards program recognizes outstanding contributions to the use and development of information technology for teaching and learning in courses at Michigan State University. These educators are recognized as campus leaders in contributing to student success through technology integration and enhancement in their courses.

Award recipients receive a $2,000 stipend that they can use to purchase technology to enhance their teaching practice, or for their own professional development.

As teaching assistant for the CSE 476 Android Development course, Li employed an open-ended, project-based learning approach that allowed students to develop personalized mobile applications using the Android Studio platform.
