An electrical engineering senior will offer the address when the Michigan State University College of Engineering hosts commencement services for 894 Engineering undergraduate students on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m.
Samuel Rabick of Kalamazoo, Michigan, said he is looking forward to addressing his fellow graduates.
“I will be congratulating my peers on their well-deserved accomplishments and encouraging them to take the moment to celebrate and appreciate all those who helped them through their journeys to this point.”
Rabick is an Alumni Distinguished Scholar and member of the Honors College. Along with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, he will graduate with minors in energy; entrepreneurship and innovation; science, technology, environment; and public policy.
He said he enjoyed his many MSU activities during his time on campus.
“I was very heavily involved in the MSU Solar Racing Team, serving as battery lead, operations director, and electrical director during my three years on the team. I was also involved in undergraduate research, served as a mentor for the HC IMPACT volunteering program, and I am a student leader for Honors Students Actively Recruiting.
"All of these activities have been such important and enjoyable parts of my undergraduate experience,” he added.
After graduation, Rabick will move to Pittsburgh to work for Eaton Corporation's DERMS CoE, the Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems Center of Excellence.
MSU will host 20 commencement ceremonies during the weekend of May 2-4. All events are in the Breslin Center, 534 Birch Road, East Lansing. Most ceremonies are about two hours long. No admission tickets are required.
For the safety of attendees, no bags or purses will be allowed in the Breslin Center during commencement ceremonies. Cameras and camcorders are permitted, but cases are prohibited. No food or beverages — including bottled water — will be allowed, and this applies to graduates, guests, and faculty.
