Spartan engineer Tyler Pritchett won the top student-athlete scholars award at this year’s Spartan Academic Excellence Gala at Michigan State University.
He received the President’s Award, given to the student-athlete graduating from MSU with the highest grade point average (GPA). Pritchett also received the Scholar-Athlete Award for the men’s cross-country team during the April 14 gala.

Pritchett graduated on May 4, 2025, with a double major in computer science and applied engineering sciences, with a concentration in supply chain management. He maintained a 3.99 GPA.
Active at MSU as both a scholar and an athlete, Pritchett earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester and is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree in track and field and four-time honoree in cross country. A three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, his achievements have been recognized throughout his collegiate career, including as a member of the 2024 U.S. Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
Pritchett has accepted a position at Dow Inc. in Midland, Michigan, as an IT analyst.
