The Michigan State University (MSU) College of Engineering celebrated Design Day on April 25, 2025. The event, now in its 31st year, is the premier undergraduate event for the college.
Design Day projects and the 15-week capstone courses, which are required for graduation, provide a platform for students to apply the knowledge and experiences gained throughout their engineering education. Working in teams, seniors put their best efforts into solving real-world problems for large and small companies. At the end of each semester, teams present at Design Day, and top honors are named during the awards ceremony.
The Spring 2025 Design Day, held in the Engineering Building, included 1,048 Spartan engineering students representing 10 degree programs, 13 courses, and 223 teams. Among this group were 699 senior students involved in 134 capstone teams.
