Eleven from the College of Engineering have been named to the Big Ten Distinguished Scholars list for 2024-25, with four earning perfect 4.0 grade point averages. They are among the 155 honorees from Michigan State University included in this prestigious Big Ten academic recognition.
Criteria for the Distinguished Scholar Award includes being Academic All-Big Ten, and enrolled full time at the institution for the entire academic year with a minimum GPA of 3.70 or better.
The Spartan Engineering selections represent men’s cross country, football, gymnastics, rowing, men and women's soccer, volleyball, and wrestling.
The four Spartan Engineers recognized for a 4.0 perfect cumulative GPA are:
- Will Eby , Men's Soccer, Mechanical Engineering
- Kate Heinecke , Rowing, Biosystems Engineering
- Genevieve Lebster , Gymnastics, Mechanical Engineering
- Tyler Pritchett , Men's Cross Country, Applied Engineering Sciences
