Associate Professor
Biography
Dr. Guo's current research focus is to understand large-strain plastic deformation, including plastic instability, ductile fracture, plastic flow control and deformation-microstructure-property relationship, with the emphasis on the applications in a wide range of processes, such as machining, surface engineering, frictional welding, micro forming, and nanostructured materials processing. Building upon the fundamental research, Dr. Guo attempts to develop novel manufacturing and materials processing technologies with enhanced process efficiency and product quality to address the challenges in modern manufacturing.
