Two of eight researchers and professors from Michigan State University recognized as “2025 Highly Cited Researchers” are from the College of Engineering. The national list, organized annually by Clarivate Analytics, recognizes research scientists from across the globe who have offered expertise and significantly influenced their respective fields of research.

A two-story news package on research by Assaf Gilad, professor of biomedical engineering and radiology, and Galit Pelled, professor of biomedical engineering, radiology and neuroscience, is telling readers about ongoing work in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Michigan State University Professor Kalyanmoy Deb was presented the 2018 IEEE CIS Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award at the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI 2018) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was honored July 11 for his "pioneering contribution, development, and leadership in evolutionary multi-criterion optimization."

Koenig Endowed Chair Kalyanmoy Deb received the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from Clarivate Analytics for his highly cited research contributions during ceremonies in New Delhi, India, on Nov. 3.

Kalyanmoy Deb, Koenig Endowed Chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering, and his student co-author, Himanshu Jain, received the "IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation Outstanding Paper Award" in San Sebastian, Spain, in June.
