Biography

Maggie Williams joined the Michigan State University College of Engineering as an assistant professor of environmental engineering in August 2025. Prior to joining MSU, she was an assistant professor of environmental engineering in the School of Engineering and Technology at Central Michigan University. During her Ph.D., she worked on inventing molecular tools for pathogen and human health marker quantification ... and was awarded first place Fitch Beach for outstanding graduate research. As an assistant professor, her research into harnessing microbial communities to further global sustainable development has been supported by funding from state and federal sources.
