Forty-two years in the same unit, same college. Not many at Michigan State University reach four decades of service, but then few have the tenacity and dedication of Denise Barnstead.

After this week's events in Washington, D.C., the leadership of the College of Engineering wanted to reach out to our community to remind everyone about the culture and climate necessary in our College to ensure we accomplish our goal of engineering a healthier, safer, and more sustainable world.

Two College of Engineering students represented Michigan State University at the S-STEM Symposium in Washington, D.C., from Sept. 12-14.

The second cohort of SEE Scholars -- engineering students at Michigan State University who were awarded scholarships from the Supporting Excellent Engineers (SEE) program -- was greeted during a reception in the College of Engineering on Aug. 28.

Grand Rapids Semester, one of four summer opportunities created by The Center For Spartan Engineering, has helped 25 student interns in Grand Rapids-area companies immerse themselves in West Michigan during a 10-week class and a variety of social and cultural events.

Craig Gunn, senior academic specialist in the Michigan State University Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been named a fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
