Biography
Before joining MSU, Minami Yoda was a Ring Family Professor in the G. W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her international experience includes being a von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow at TU Berlin in Germany, and a visiting researcher at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, as well as the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in Japan.
Her current research interests in fluid mechanics and optical techniques include super-resolution imaging, boiling heat transfer, and the thermal-fluids of high heat flux plasma-facing components for magnetic fusion energy. She is a Fellow of American Nuclear Society (ANS), the American Physical Society (APS) and ASME. She is currently an editor of the IoP journal Fluid Dynamics Research, and former Chair of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics and the ANS Fusion Energy Division.
