Biography
Dr. Roozbeh Dargazany is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on the understanding of material aging, reliability and loss of performance in Extreme environments, such as space, extreme heat, and high temperature-high pressure applications. By incorporating concepts from computational mechanics, Data analysis, Polymer science and statistical learning, his goal is to describe the material related changes in different scales ranging from molecular to macro-scales using machine-learned statistical models that can mimic the complete picture of the hierarchical mechanisms that characterize the material performance. Development of such an understanding is fundamental in design, maintenance and optimization of advanced materials, structures and devices use din sensitive applications.
