December 2017 Design Day
Engineering students at Michigan State University have created innovative solutions this semester to enhance the MSU experience on campus, improve mobility for wheelchair athletes, among other needs and will show off their results on Friday, Dec. 8, during Fall Design Day in the MSU College of Engineering.
SmartAg initiative
By 2050, the global population may exceed nine billion people - almost three-quarters of them living in urban areas. How will the world feed so many? The SmartAg International Symposium, being held at Michigan State University on Dec. 3-6, is aimed at connecting the researchers, practitioners and policy makers who will tackle the global agro-food problem of producing more with less.

Two from the College of Engineering were honored during a university reception on Nov. 2 that recognized MSU's 10 newest University Distinguished Professors.
Year of Global Africa
With African music, dancing and colorful visuals, the Spartan Marching Band will celebrate Michigan State University's decades-long scholarly engagement with Africa during its halftime show on Saturday, Nov. 18, when MSU plays Maryland in football. The show was originally scheduled for the Penn State game on Saturday, Nov. 4 - but a 3 1/2-hour game delay due to lightning caused the schedule change.
