Anil Jain has been selected to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK). He is a University Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at MSU.
ASME Fellow: Tamara Reid Bush
Tamara Reid Bush, associate professor of mechanical engineering, was named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). She is one of a select number of 3,498 who have attained the grade of Fellow among 120,248 members.

German car parts maker ZF came to the MSU College of Engineering in early October with the goal of developing new methods for easing these future threats from manifesting with the help of a new project with Betty H.C. Cheng, professor of computer science and engineering.

Nuclear physics computing
Three nuclear physics research projects involving Michigan State University researchers have won grants from the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC).
