Muhamad Munum Masud
PhD student Muhamad Munum Masud, and his advisor Associate Professor Syed Waqar Haider, of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering earned an international award in the Transportation & Development Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers-LTPP International Data Analysis Contest. The competition is also sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Shiwang Cheng honored
A chemical engineer at Michigan State University was presented the 2018 Peter Debye Prize for Young Investigators in Dielectric Research by the International Dielectric Society, sharing the honor with a researcher from Europe. Shiwang Cheng was recognized for his "significant results on polymer nanocomposites."
Construction begins
Embracing the future of teaching and learning, Michigan State University has officially broken ground on the new STEM Teaching and Learning Facility. During the groundbreaking ceremony, MSU Interim President John Engler was joined by faculty, students and staff representing STEM-related colleges as well as members of the Michigan Legislature who supported funding for the project.
